Shelly Bean the Sports Queen simply loves to play sports. When it comes to soccer, basketball or hockey, for her it isn't about being a champion but more about accomplishing a goal and enjoying the process. It was a magical morning today at Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis! With about 40 children and another 20 adults, I talked about the importance of perseverance, the Olympics and aspirations these kids might have to one day play in them and how I desire for Shelly Bean to be a role model to them. We also spent some good time talking about the importance of being proud of yourself for trying hard and not giving up - just like Shelly Bean the Sports Queen who rewards herself with a new charm for her crown! After talking with the children and reading couple books to them, Hanna from Dance Love led the kids for about 40 minutes in dancing! Nearly every book sold was sold to a BOY! LOVE people giving these boys a strong female role model!
